One of My Favorite Pieces of Videogame Music

I like music from video games, you should know this by now. This, in particular, is one of my favorites. This is the Diving theme from the SNES game Waterworld, based on a film nobody likes. The game is generally aggreed to be horrible, but its soundtrack is anything but. Composed by the great Dean Evans, this soundtrack, and particularly this song, really transcends what most people think the SNES was capable of. This is a longer track, but it just sweaps you into a different world; a mysterious place where you feel a bit uneasy, yet somehow… comfortable. Like you don’t know what’s going to happen, but somehow you know you’re safe.

I actually have a copy of this entire soundtrack on vinyl, it’s even a transparent blue disc… how fancy, even though I’ll never be able to see it.

Note: if you’ve watched my KNATV severe weather livestreams before, you’ve heard this song.

Audio emulated using whatever is included in the Chipamp Winamp plugin pack. Emulated from the original .SPC file ripped from the game.
