Interpolating a song is when a composition is used from another song, but the original recording is not, thus it’s distinct from sampling. One of my favorite examples of this is "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby being interpolated in "Changes" by TuPac. Since the BPMs line up exactly, you can do fun things like this:
